Design & Concept of materials:
With the use of books out of their usual context, I create an optical illusion: a bench made of books, strong enough to sit on. The re-use of plywood and books makes it environmental-friendly. The carefully aggregated book covers tell their own stories.
Philosophy: Books always have been the carriers of knowledge and fiction. These days books are more and more replaced by digital media – the book bench is a tribute to the bearers of our intellectual heritage.
