Design & Concept of materials

Using the wood from cargoboxes, as a reference to the strong export of Vietnamese goods to the western world, we build a part of a peachtree with two branches to sit on. The outside layer is made from leftover marerials of the apparel industry, such as fabric remnants and b-ware bags and so on. The Vietnamese sewing factories are a well known fact of tour globalised economy. This inspired us to sew a cussioned cover, looking like the second skin of the tree. Last but not least we will ad a lot of hand-woven blossoms, chosen from junk fabrics of outdoor textiles, for more durability and water resistance.

Philosophy

The symbol of the peach tree belongs to many celebrations in Vietnam, it is a MUST when it comes to Vietnamese culture.

The peach tree sums up happiness and luck for the people and gives them a blossom feeling during the springtime. Peaches play an important role in Asian mythology and history, because it is said to attribute magical powers. Everyboy just loves the wonderfull blossoms. And most of the people in Vietnam remember the feeling in their childhood, playing under a or inside a peach tree, sitting on the branches.
